FUNDING PROCESS

The Pacer Parents Club accepts funding requests from the Lakeridge community throughout the school year and summer break.  If you are a teacher, parent, student, administrator or an employee of Lakeridge High School and have a funding need for your classroom, club, parent support group or Lakeridge event, you may submit a funding request.

Funding requests are reviewed by the Finance Committee, per the Pacer Club Bylaws about once per month. Requests are evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Does the request meet the mission of the Pacer Parents Club?
  • How strong is the need?
  • Are there funds available?
  • Can the use be measured in student hours?

Projects Funded, 2010-2011 School Year

The Pacer Parents Club is pleased to announce approval and installation of the following:

  • Two new art tables were installed in Shannon McBride’s classroom.  These tables replaced two older tables that reached the end of their useful lives and will accommodate the increased class sizes in the LHS Art Department.
  • Two Kindle Readers were purchased for use by LHS Students who have learning differences or are vision impaired.
  • A poetry bookbinding workshop was funded for Lisa Grimm’s AP French Class. This workshop provided binding supplies and taught the students to beautifully bind keepsake poetry books of their own works and studied poetry.
  • A large white screen called a Cyclorama, used to project images and backgrounds, was installed in the auditorium for stage productions.  Andrew Stoltenberg used the Cyclorama for the “Fiddler On The Roof” production and Bill Campbell used it for the Company Variety Show.
  • New software and equipment were acquired for the LHS World Languages Lab.
  • 6 Truckloads of office furniture, white boards and keyboard trays for Lakeridge HS and Waluga JHS, were donated by IBM Corporation.
  • All computer labs were increased to 36 stations to accommodate larger class sizes.
  • The B2 computer lab now has 16 stations for Laptops in addition to the 30 computer stations.
  • A parent team did some landscape cleanup and installed plantings near the LHS front entrance. This is the beginning of a multi-year project.

Projects Funded, 2009-2010 School Year

During the 2009-10 school year, Pacer Parents Club joined forces with generous private and corporate matches to fund new computers for Lakeridge High School’s two computer labs, and was part of a public/private partnership to resurface and improve the tennis courts on Overlook Drive across from Lakeridge High School.
